Where? Camp Utopia will be on retreat in paradise.

What? Details: The scholarship pays 100% of your stay at the Pura Vida Resort & Spa while we are there. This includes your shared room, daily meals, and yoga program. This is a $1350 value, and also gives you the opportunity to earn up to 100 hours toward your advanced certification. That doesn't mean a week of enslavement to your studies - we'll have plenty of time to go on tours of the jungle, hike to waterfalls and volcanoes, and experience the incredible beauty of Costa Rica with all your wonderful new yoga friends.

The recipient of the scholarship is responsible for their own travel to and from Costa Rica.*

* We are looking for the right candidate; the person who will benefit most from this experience for their planned career as a yoga teacher. If you believe you are the right candidate and the flight costs are impossible, please talk to us anyway. Additional work exchange opportunities may be available.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must fulfill the following requirements:
  1. You are enrolled in the 300 hour or 500 hour program and tuition is paid in full.
  2. You agree to assist the senior teachers in Costa Rica, as an opportunity for live experience and behind the scenes, on-the-job training. You will teach and co-teach with the whole team in Costa Rica.
  3. If you are within 60 miles of Austin, TX, Denver, CO, or Williston, ND, you will teach a live class, lab or workshop on the subject of your choice so that we can get to know you, your style, and your passions from the perspective of students on the mat. If you will be studying from a distance, this will be submitted in a recorded format.
  4. During your training, you will create one service (Karma) assignment. This will be a work exchange or pay-it-forward project that reflects the same high value of your scholarship. Your mentor will work with you, and it might include teaching under-served communities, special group or events, either without pay, or accepting donations. It might include creating a whole program related to your yoga passions. Whatever it is, it will be fair and designed for your growth, as well as helping others in a significant way. If you have specific ideas about how you'd like to serve, you can include your ideas on your application; and if you aren't sure, we will help you choose.
  5. There are 8 other projects, and we want you to think about what you'd like to create during your training. On your application, write your ideas for each one. We understand these may shift and change as you progress through training, but it helps us to see your existing wants and needs more clearly. This is included in the attached application.
  6. You must complete the attached application and return it to me before midnight, Friday, January 22, 2016.

We will spend the week immersed in one chakra energy per day, with food, classes, meditations and activities designed to tone and harmonize each of your power centers in one life changing week. Everyone will teaches classes and workshops - including you. You'll be involved with the senior team in every aspect of retreat management that fits your career needs.

At the end of that week, as a professional yoga teacher, you will know more about your body, how to successfully teach one-on-ones, how to create fantastic workshops, lots of business and marketing insight to organizing and running your own retreats, and, as a person, you'll experience even more deeply the power yoga has to lead you to happiness.
Pura Vida Yoga Resort has 3 incredible meals included each day of our stay.
There are 5 yoga rooms overlooking the jungle, and a team of Camp Utopia's senior teachers (and newest grads) will be teaching classes, meditations, advanced poses and practices, anatomy, business, and the beautiful harmony of living your authentic life as a yogi.
 We will be staying in gorgeous tentalows and cabins (2 yogis per room) and each participant will receive a luxury beach tote full of all natural organic body products, essential oils, yoga tools, and all the interesting goodies we provide to fully experience the healing and empowerment of our program.
