Welcome to The Library for RED WeekendEach weekend of training includes 15-18 new poses, a teaching skill, study of self, study of anatomy, and study of the history, philosophy and lifestyle of a yogi.
Almost everything contained here can also be found in your Facebook group, and we encourage you to go there to add comments and questions and participate in the community dialogue for any item in the library that you want. You are all wise people, you all have lots to offer, you are all apprentice teachers now, and we all gain more from the big conversation. This is a 2 way street. Let's go! |

Postures & Methodology
These are your first weekend postures - same as the red card you received in class.
We leave your posture labs blank, because learning how to research and explore a pose on your own is good for you - there are many more poses besides the ones you'll learn this year. Here are 3 examples of "completed" labs and I could still, I'm sure, fill out another whole page for each of them. Some are more complex than others. Make notes about the things that matter most to you right now. You'll layer more in later.
Anatomy
In weekend 1, you are introduced to the infinite variety of skeletal expression. Although we are all built mostly the same, the size, shape, length, and way the bones fit together is unique to each person. We'll reinforce this over and over. We would also like you to spend time getting to know your amazing feet. Download the readings, anatomy, and reflexology chart below, and have fun.
Our study of anatomy is functional - we want the things you learn to be useful. Each weekend, we introduce a few poses that correspond with a traditional pose from that weekend, and show you how to adapt it for more therapeutic or strengthening / stabilizing benefit.

Red VideosOur weekend classes and labs are a mix of reasonably for and rough cuts - no trimming, no titles, no sound correction. They get upgraded bit by bit, and we appreciate your tolerance of our learning curve. They play just fine. And you'll find short labs as well as classes - take as often as you like. The more the body connects with what you are learning intellectually, the more quickly your skills become embodied.
