The ancient yogis were all about enlightenment. They were trying to increase their life force energy. Because plants eat light, they are the most desired food. When we can eat food that is still living - like sprouts - we are eating food with the life force still intact. Very auspicious.

So for the next 2 weeks, we are trying to get rid of all the processed, packaged, fast food, junk food, dead food, leftover food, and eat the most "alive" foods we can, as much as we can.

The hard part is - WE ARE BUSY!

And many healthy eaters do a lot of food prep for several days in advance. It makes healthy eating possible for lots of us. Yet the ancient yogis are clear - each day your "salad jar" sits waiting for you to eat it, it gets a little more dead.

So today think about how you will balance this aspect. What things can you prepare in advance that will help you succeed with your goals, that don't add up to "left-overs" and where will you compromise for the most efficient outcome?

Remember, the ancient yogis did nothing but yoga. Make choices that work for you in your life, because stress is just another way to dull your light.

If you are playing in our contest for a chance to win a Spring into Summer Yoga Package, you must post a picture on your personal Instagram every day, and use the hashtags and sponsor names listed below.

Take a picture of your food prep, or any beautiful, whole, lovely food you are eating today. Have a sweet one!

I'm bulking up on Iced Tea.

I'm a beverage girl, and it is way too easy to just keep going for the coffee when the only other choice in the house is water. And when I think about snacking, hydration is often what I actually need. So I've got 5 quarts of yummy iced teas, made in advance and ready to go - sweet, without sweeteners.

Pure water helps.

Carrot sticks and celery sticks stay crisp and fresh a long time when they are living in water. Keeping a bowl in the fridge short cuts all my tendencies to reach for an easier, but less healthy, snack. Change the water every few days. Happy munching!
