Day 5: Let's Go!

Well there you have it - the big picture again. We are meant to eat the most healthy, whole, vital foods, so that we can grow and thrive, and do our good work in the world. When we have abundant, bright, calm, cool, and collected energy, we can do anything. We are meant to enjoy life, and food and physical health are among life's greatest pleasures. The two go hand in hand.
​So, let's begin....
Today, start with fruit first - try for 3 servings before you eat anything else.

That doesn't mean skip your morning hydration - warm water with lemon, or just a glass of water to get your juices flowing, then, eat fruit.

My plan is to eat whole, fresh, raw, single foods for the first 12 hours of the day. That's about 5:00 - 5:00 for me, and that means fruit, nuts, vegetables, beverages, and dairy. If I feel restless and unsatisfied, I'll have a piece of bread with cheese or peanut butter or fruit preserves. 

At 5:00, I'll eat a simple, warm meal. I'll eat things like gently steamed vegetables, eggs, toast with cheese and sliced tomatoes, soup or a bowl of barley - using minimal ingredients and minimal fuss.

In the evening, I'll have something sweet, but I'll try to stop eating by 7:30 pm.

I know I'll need treats and breaks from this, extra protein some days, more savory foods, and so on. And we'll talk about that as we go forward for the next 2 weeks.

For today - plan your eating day, make any last minute food shopping or prep projects, and try to hit the ground running. Eat like an ancient yogi today. You'll start to feel amazing within just a few days. Eat for the right reasons: because you love yourself, because you believe in your own power to transform. It's going to be great.
